Architecture, the beach, modern art, homemade beer, bluegrass, the sweetest black lab, and a monkey! It may sound like an odd mix of things for a wedding but it was perfect! Stephanie and Doug first met at a kickball game in D.C. and both happen to be civil engineers. Stephanie’s job has taken her all over the world and her and Doug also love to travel, to beaches in particular. Doug proposed on a trip to Key West and now they are spending their honeymoon in St. Martin, Anguilla, and St. Barts! Right after their first look outside of the Hotel Roanoke, their sweet black lab Indy joined us for a few shots. Indy also made an appearance on the custom labels on homemade beer that Doug and his groomsmen made for the reception. Stephanie and Doug chose the Taubman Art Museum in downtown Roanoke, Virginia for their ceremony and reception because they loved the architecture of this building and all of the beautiful downtown elements, especially those neon signs that light up a night! It was an amazing wedding and I loved everything about it, especially the bluegrass band, Drymill Road, that you must check out. Oh and I guess I should explain the monkey…he has been passed from friend to friend and whoever was married latest keeps the monkey until the next friend marries!
